Add the fills of one position (each buy for a long, each sell for a short) to get your average entry price, then the exact price you need to exit at to break even after trading fees, a target exit price and your profit or loss right now. Enter your own exchange's fees: this page has no built-in prices or exchange rates. Everything is calculated in your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent anywhere. Educational only, not financial advice.
Load example fills in a made-up long: 0.01 BTC at $60,000, 0.01 at $57,000 and 0.02 at $54,000, 0.1% fees each way, a 5% target and a current price of $55,000. They are not real trades or any exchange's fees.
Enter at least one fill (price and amount), then press Calculate.
Average entry price is the total value of your fills divided by the total coins: (price₁ × amount₁ + price₂ × amount₂ + …) ÷ (amount₁ + amount₂ + …). It is weighted by size, so a big fill counts more than a small one. If you enter dollars spent, each fill's coins are dollars ÷ price.
Break-even price (long) is the sell price that gets back everything you paid: the fills, the entry fees and any other costs, after the exit fee is taken from the sale: total cost ÷ (coins × (1 − exit fee)). It always sits a little above your average entry.
Break-even price (short) is the buy-back price that costs exactly what the short sold for after fees: (sale value − entry fees − other costs) ÷ (coins × (1 + exit fee)). It sits a little below your average entry.
Target price adds your target profit (as a % of the value of your fills) on top of break-even. P&L now is what you would get if you closed everything at the current price you typed, after the exit fee.
Assumptions: fees are paid in dollars as a % of each fill's value (if your exchange takes the buy fee in the coin, you hold slightly fewer coins and the result is almost the same), the whole position is closed at one price, and slippage is not included. To see what fees cost per trade and per year, use the trading fee calculator; to plan scaled exits, the exit planner; to size a new position, the position size calculator.
